hum saab bharteeya hein (hindi)

A beautiful song praising the spread and diversity of India. It seems to be a NCC song.. Was fortunate to learn it at KV.

aag hui hein roshan (hindi camp fire opening song)

Campfire opening song (hindi)

har desh mein tu (hindi prayer)

A beautiful song that I had learnt in my Guides class. It seems like the wisdom of Gita is shining in these simple lines. No wonder it felt so special listening to it as a kid.

Har desh mein tu, har vesh mein tu
Tere naam anek tu ek hi hai
Teri rang bhoomi yah vishva bhara
Sab khel mein mel mein tu hi to hain

Present in every space, in every form,
You are just “One” called by many different names
This whole Universe is your celebrative playground,
And you are present in each game, in each festival

Sagar se ttha badal banke
Badal se gira jal hokar ke
Phir nahar bani nadiya gahri,
Tere bhinna prakar tu ek hi hain

Rising from the ocean as a cloud,
You pour down upon us as rain
Becoming a gentle stream or a gushing river,
You are the same “One” called by many different names

Mitti se anu parmanu hue
Yah vishwa jagat ka roop liya
Kahi parvat vriksha vishal hue
Saundarya tera tu ek hi hain

Present in the smallest atoms and molecules of creation,
You manifest in all the forms of this vast Universe
Taking the shape of mountains, or big trees,
Your beauty is varied, yet you are the same “One”

Yah divya dikhaya hai jisne
Vah hai Gurudev ki purna daya
Tukuda kahe aur na koi dikha
Bas tu aur main sab ek hi hai

What opened my eyes to your infinite glory,
Is the grace of my compassionate teacher
Tukada (the poet) says I see no “other”
You and me, we all are just “One”

Introduction

India is a country with a diverse and ancient culture and heritage. The myriad patriotic songs from different regions eulogizes the lyrical beauty, its rich history, culture and the spirit of freedom struggle.

With nostalgia and pride, I have compiled this list of patriotic and inspirational songs from my school days.

Some of the translations are original and some of them
have been borrowed. Contents on this website have been referenced from Kendriya Vidhyalaya Almanac, wikipedia and various other blogs and websites.

I first put this blog in the early 2000.. Just after my college. And to my surprise even today my blog and the collection standsout. Every time around Independence and Republic Day, a lot of visitors check out and that motivates me to keep this site going.

Jai Hind !!
